At the young age of 15, Cherie Currie not only became a pioneer in the rock & roll scene as the lead singer of all-female punk band, The Runaways, but she also quickly transformed into an influential fashion icon.  Largely inspired by her idol David Bowie, the rebel teen commanded the stage in pink corsets, garter belts, and metallic jumpsuits.  Dakota Fanning, who plays the role of Currie in the recent biopic, was quoted in Vogue as saying,

In the beginning, Cherie is your typical Valley Girl but her style becomes very glam as she becomes less and less afraid to be different.

Two solo albums, a handful of movies, an autobiographical book (Neon Angel which inspired The Runaways movie), and plenty of chainsaw carving art later, Cherie Currie proved she is still all rock & roll at a recent historic performance.  On August 11th, Currie opened the show at Pacific Amphitheater for fellow Runaways bandmate, Joan Jett.  From the OC Register:

Currie came across like a panther let out of a cage in Costa Mesa…Clad in black leather pants and vest with a fox tail hanging from behind (and sporting gorgeous long blond locks), Currie amazingly looked every bit the vixen at 50 that she was at 15.

From Cherie Currie, herself:

The incredible and talented Marina Toybina has designed my outfit for tomorrow. Here is her sketch. She just left and all I can say is it ROCKS!!!! I love you Marina!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!

Wearing a custom GLAZA vest and ‘CC’ cuff, Currie ended the set with her signature hit, ‘Cherry Bomb.’
